Hello my name is Jim. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL.  I worked as a farm hand until I joined the U.S. Navy after high school. In my years serving in the Navy I was a Jet Engine Mechanic, Search and Rescue Helicopter Crewman, Instructor for the A-7 Attack Jet, Aviation Officer Candidate, Navigator, Tactical Coordinator and later Mission Commander for the P-3 Anti-Submarine Aircraft, Maintenance Division Officer of 87 men, Joint Service Airborne Navigation Instructor, Student at Air Command and Staff College (War College), Weapons Officer USS Saratoga and Operations Officer for an operational squadron. After the Navy I got into the mortgage business and opened my own mortgage brokerage.  Later, after I retired, I ran my own small business buying, fixing and selling cars, trucks and sail boats.

A few years ago my wife and I decided it sounded like fun to work for a kid’s camp for the summer.  We enjoyed working at Camp Granite Lake last year and are looking forward to returning to the mountains this summer.
