All returning and new campers hopped on the bus this morning and headed up to Wondervu for a fun day at camp! We enjoyed singing songs on the bus, and sang more songs when we arrived at camp! We also played a getting-to-know-you game called “The Sun Shines on…” with the rest of the older campers. After, we talked about rules in our small Junior group before putting on our sunscreen and heading up to Thunder Ridge for lunch. As we ate, we enjoyed amazing vistas looking towards the Continental Divide. After lunch, we went on a hike down towards camp and then back up to the day camp site. We also got a chance to free play before getting back on the bus to Boulder.
When we arrived at Whittier, we had a quick snack and then got an opportunity to decorate/re-decorate our water bottles! One of our campers this week brought us a whole stash of amazing stickers to be used on our waterbottles, it was very exciting! We then read a story about hurricanes and then ended our day with some introductions to the week and each other and also our “Meatball” song.
